Playing through the campaign with side missions

As simple as it may seem, just playing through the campaign and completing any side missions that come up will help you reach rank five very quickly. You also have the opportunity to further learn the control scheme early on, which is intimidating at first. As The Witcher 3 is an unforgiving game, you might want to spend some time completing the campaign missions before venturing off on your own. You'll also receive your first trophy, the Griffin head, which you'll definitely need for the next few missions.

Use the right tools for the job

If we've learned anything from monster hunters like Blade, and Val Helsing; you need the right tools to get the job done. The same applies to killing monsters and professional soldiers in The Witcher 3. There is no easy way to do it. Understand the strengths and weaknesses of your weapons from the start. This game has many weapons, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The game begins with two swords. Equipping the Silver Witcher sword grants you a 20% boost in experience, so knowing when and how to use it is as critical as knowing how. Swords and armor are divided into three schools, the first of which is the Griffin school. This school starts at level 8 and will become better and stronger as you rank up. The two other schools are the Feline school and Ursine school, all three having unique abilities to help you climb the ranks fairly easily.

Setting off on your own.

If you're feeling gutsy, and confident after completing a few of the campaign missions and are looking for a fight. Setting off on your own will still need a bit of research. What you’ll be looking for are medium to high-ranking monsters for quick ranking up, some of those to specifically look out for are Drowners, which can be found near the water in a variety of places on the map. Along the way many of the enemies you may want to target for the experience points will come in the form of Witcher contracts, which also also grant you monetary rewards in game

.

There are also other ways to rank up in The Witcher 3. However, the best method is to experiment with a few different methods on your own. The Witcher 3 is an incredibly challenging and engrossing game that you’ll find difficult to put down.
